Poultry mortality calculator and mortality tracking
Mortality rate is the number to watch every day. A rise in mortality is often the first sign of disease, a ventilation problem or poor chick quality. Use the calculator below to work out your flock mortality and livability right now.
In Galehban, daily mortality takes less than two minutes to record. Instead of counting by hand you can photograph the dead birds and the count is done automatically, and farm workers can record mortality through a personal link without logging in.

Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate poultry mortality rate?
Divide the number of dead birds by the number of chicks placed and multiply by 100. For example, 150 dead out of 10,000 chicks is 1.5%. Livability is 100 minus the mortality rate.
What is normal first-week mortality in broiler chicks?
Most broiler management guides treat 7-day mortality below about 1% as a good target. Higher losses usually point to chick quality, brooding temperature or access to water and feed.
How accurate is mortality counting from photos?
Accuracy is good when the birds are not piled on top of each other and the photo is taken from above in good light. The photo guide inside Galehban shows how to take the right photo.
Can farm workers record mortality?
Yes. With a quick-entry link, a worker fills in only the mortality form without a username or password, and the data is saved to your flock.
