Broiler FCR calculator and poultry feed management
Feed is the largest cost in broiler production, and the feed conversion ratio (FCR) shows how well that cost turned into meat. Use the calculator below to work out your flock FCR and European Production Efficiency Factor (EPEF).
In Galehban, feed consumption is recorded every day so a spike or drop shows up the same week. Build a least-cost ration at today's ingredient prices, estimate flock weight from a photo and see the real profit of every cycle.

Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate broiler FCR?
Divide the total feed consumed (kg) by the total live weight of the flock (birds alive times average weight). For example, 45,000 kg of feed for 9,800 birds at 2.8 kg gives an FCR of about 1.64.
What is EPEF?
The European Production Efficiency Factor combines weight, livability, age and FCR: livability (%) times live weight (kg), divided by age (days) times FCR, times 100. The higher it is, the more successful the cycle.
Why does FCR go up?
Common causes are feed wastage at the feeders, disease (especially enteric), wrong shed temperature, poor feed quality and slaughtering later than the optimal weight. Daily feed records help you find the cause sooner.
